QAOA (Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm) encodes the portfolio selection problem as a graph optimization task. Each qubit represents an asset (1 = include, 0 = exclude). The quantum circuit evolves the state toward the bitstring that maximizes risk-adjusted returns.
